Teen points firearm at relative

Police are looking for a teenage boy who pointed a firearm at a relative in Takapau in central Hawkes Bay on Tuesday night.

Officers were called to the township at 7.20pm after a man reported his young relative had pointed a firearm at him in a house.

No shots were fired and the boy fled on foot.

The Hawkes Bay Armed Offenders Squad searched three houses and the village looking for the boy.

Police know the identity of the youth and were working with family and associates to find him.
