Telecom customers have been affected by an outage for
telephone services in the Napier region.
She did not know how many people in Gisborne were affected.
The outage was not affecting mobile calling but some
broadband customers in the area could be affected.
Emergency 111 services have been redirected through Hastings,
and should be operating normally.
People are advised to use cellphones for emergency calls.
Telecom technical teams were working hard to restore service
to the region as soon as possible.
