Police are still carrying out a scene examination at Otaki
Beach where a man's body was found yesterday.
The body was removed from the beach late last night and a
post mortem will take place this morning, police detective
senior sergeant Craig Sheridan said.
A vehicle parked in the beach car park that police believe is
associated to the man has also been seized.
The deceased is believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s.
Mr Sheridan said the scene examination was likely to be
completed by this evening, along with the examination of the

"Once the post mortem is completed we will have a clearer
picture of how the man has died and which path our
investigation will take," Mr Sheridan said.
