Police say they are speaking to
a man who is helping them with their enquiries after two men
were shot in Kawerau this morning.
Police were called to a River Rd property about 6.15am.
Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Standen told the Rotorua
Daily Post they were looking for a dark coloured sedan
which was seen leaving the scene.
Two men aged 38 and 48 were flown to Waikato Hospital in a
critical condition and were now undergoing surgery.
Mr Standen said police were also called to a property on
Valley Rd after reports of a man with a gun.
It is understood a man who left the Valley Rd property was
later questioned by police and he was now helping with their

Tauranga-based TECT Rescue Helicopter were called to the
