A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing from pokies
around the North Island.
Sergeant Neil Fenwick said a 33-year-old man was arrested on
Tuesday after he was allegedly found trying to manipulate a
gaming machine at Hamilton's Sky City Casino at the weekend.
"The machine the man was tampering with had $850 loaded on
it," Mr Fenwick said.
He was also interviewed about an incident a week earlier
which involved the theft of over $2000, Mr Fenwick said.
The man also allegedly carried out similar offending in
Tauranga and was arrested in Taupo in April after allegedly
tilted a gaming machine in a bar and got more than $2200.
Mr Fenwick urged gaming machine operators to be vigilant.
