Post-mortem fails to shed light on Te Aroha death

The sudden death of a woman in Te Aroha remains unexplained after post-mortem examination results came back inconclusive.

The 28-year-old, today named as Ying Hui Kong, was found dead in her home on Monday.

However, police officers investigating her death are still unclear about what led to her death.

"Unfortunately, a post-mortem examination carried out in Auckland yesterday to try and establish the cause of Miss Kong's death was inconclusive and investigators are now waiting on the results of further examinations, including toxicology tests to determine if her death was suspicious," area investigations manager for Eastern Waikato, Detective Senior Sergeant Graham Pitkethley said.

"At this point in time our investigation remains one into a sudden, unexplained death."
