A pregnant woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries early this morning after a hit and run crash in west Auckland.
A silver Subaru car spun out of control in the city-bound lanes of the north-western motorway, and collided with another car at around 4am, police said.
It then fled the scene, driving in the wrong direction on the motorway.
The car was caught by CCTV cameras leaving the motorway at Lincoln Road.
The driver of the other car - a pregnant woman - was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, police said.
The north-western motorway was closed for a while, between Lincoln Road and Te Atatu, following the crash as emergency services attended.
The serious crash unit and Waitemata CIB are investigating.
