A man accused of exposing himself to other passengers on
Auckland trains has been banned from riding the city's rail
Before a registrar in the Auckland District Court today,
Conrad Shannon Courtney, 36, entered no pleas to two charges
of performing indecent acts on KiwiRail trains.
The charges carry a maximum penalty of two years' jail.
He was bailed until next month and, for now, cannot travel by
"That's fine I can catch the bus," Courtney said.
He must also live at a Glen Eden property.
Court documents show the alleged indecency happened on
December 12 and 21. Police have said on those dates, Courtney
sat close to young women, before exposing himself and
performing indecent acts.
Outside court Courtney told APNZ he planned to plead not
guilty to both charges. He said he was riding the train on
the days the alleged offences happened but has not exposed
himself or committed any indecencies.
"There's no evidence or anything like that."
He said facing charges was "a little bit weird".
