Diversion after bikini-clad road rage attack

A woman who was caught on camera attacking a motorist while in her bikini will take part in the police diversion scheme.

The 18-year-old, who has been granted interim name suppression, appeared in the Hutt Valley district court today in relation to a video of a road rage attack, posted on the internet.

The footage, filmed from inside a vehicle, shows a blonde woman wielding a screwdriver, yelling at two people and asking if the woman driver knows how to drive.

"Do you even have a licence?" she asks, before demanding to see it.

She then appears to hit the woman in the face.

According to the police charge sheet, the attack was carried out on December 14.

Judge John Bergseng has remanded the teen at large until March 18, when she will reappear in court. If she has fulfilled requirements of the police scheme, she will be granted diversion.

Interim name suppression was granted after the teen's lawyer said the accused and her family had received threats in relation to the video.
