The country's national airline is set to release another of
its acclaimed safety videos - this time featuring supermodels
Dubbing it "the world's most beautiful safety video", Air New
Zealand has partnered with Sports Illustrated for the latest
The 'Safety in Paradise' video was shot in the Cook Islands
and features supermodels Chrissy Teigen, Ariel Meredith,
Hannah Davis and Jessica Gomes.
It is due to be released on February 12 to coincide with
Sports Illustrated 50th anniversary celebrations.
The video also features Christie Brinkley, one of the
original supermodels who appeared on three consecutive Sports
Illustrated Swimsuit covers.
Air New Zealand is hoping the video will drive passenger
traffic on its Auckland-Rarotonga and Los Angeles-Rarotonga
services in 2014.
Air New Zealand spokeswoman Jodi Williams described the
partnership as a phenomenal opportunity as the Sports
Illustrated franchise reached more than 70 million people
"The magazine alone has more than 61 million readers annually
and the safety video shoot with Air New Zealand will feature
in the special anniversary edition.
"This is money can't buy global attention focused on a key
destination and our airline."
The airline has received considerable acclaim for previous
safety videos, which have featured Hobbits, adventurer Bear
Grylls, fitness personality Richard Simmons and the company's
then-chief executive Rob Fyfe wearing nothing but body paint.
