A man has been hospitalised a broken arm and facial injuries
after he was attacked by two men in central Christchurch,
The assault happened at a bus stop near the corner of Lyndon
and Clarence Streets about 6.30pm yesterday, Detective
Sergeant Richard Quested said.
The first alleged offender was described as in his early to
mid 20s, was Maori or Polynesian with short black hair, had a
stocky build and was about 1.85m tall.
He had small tattoos on his arms and was wearing a black t
shirt and black long trousers.
The second man was also aged in his early to mid 20s, was
Caucasian, about 1.8m tall and with blond or brown hair of
He was wearing a white short sleeved top.
Mr Quested said police were interested to hear from anyone
who saw the assault or two men chasing another male on
Clarence Street towards Westfield Mall.
"We would also like to speak to a male in a white utility
vehicle who spoke to the victim shortly after the assault as
he may have seen the suspects."
