Fog is affecting a number of flights in and out of Wellington Airport tonight.
The conditions have caused delays to arrivals, with a number of diversions taking place, an airport spokesman said.
A number of planes have been forced to remain on the tarmac, but most departures are still going ahead, he said. However, arrivals are being affected.
The delay to aircraft being able to land may cause some knock-on disruptions.
"There could be a flow-on effect, because once an aircraft gets diverted it will affect the subsequent departure of that aircraft," the spokesman said.
Passengers are advised to check with their airline and the Wellington Airport website for updates on their flights, and to expect delays.
