The formal memorial for the victims of Christchurch's
February 22 earthquake will be built on the banks of the Avon
River, nestled between greenery and water, it was revealed
A group of people have escaped their vehicle without injury
after driving into a river earlier today.

the death of Willis Tepania, who died after doing an ice
challenge and drinking bourbon.
Parents are being warned against "chickenpox parties" because
the highly infectious disease can be fatal, or lead to severe
complications and permanent disabilities.
Northland residents have been evacuated from their homes due
to flooding while more than 2000 homes across the upper North
Island remain without power.
A woman remains missing after a number of party-goers were
swept into a flooded river in Northland early this morning.
