One of the largest jackpots in New Zealand Lotto
history has been won in Auckland, with the winner scooping
The winning Powerball ticket was sold at Willy Wonka's in
central Auckland, Lotto spokeswoman Emilia Mazur said.
"This win goes straight into Lotto's history books. This is
the sixth biggest Lotto prize in New Zealand history."
The total Lotto Powerball prize was made up of $26,061,898
million from Powerball First Division and $200,000 from Lotto
It was the first Powerball prize to be won in 2014.
Four other Lotto players from around the country would also
be celebrating after winning a $200,000 share of Lotto First
The winning tickets were sold at Papamoa Beach Four Square,
New World Orewa, Countdown Kelvin Grove in Palmerston North
and at MyLotto.co.nz.
Strike was won by a player from Kaikohe, who scored $438,433
after buying the winning ticket from their local New World.
Meanwhile, Treena and Jim from Reporoa spun and won $100,000
of round-the-wold travel on the winning wheel on last night's
live Lotto draw.
This week's winning wheel ticket was sold at New World
Papatoetoe in Auckland. The serial number is
All Lotto players are automatically entered in the draw to
win the opportunity to spin Lotto's winning wheel, regardless
of the type of ticket they buy.
Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above winning
stores were advised to write their name on the back of the
