A 70-year-old man has been charged with murder after a body
was found at a suburban east Auckland address.
Police said "something violent" had happened at the Glen
Innes where the male victim's body was found late last night.
Officers were still working to identify the victim and no
further details would be released until next of kin had been
notified, which could take more than 24 hours.
Police were carrying out a scene examination at the address
They were were also working to establish the movements of the
victim and the alleged offender before the incident.
Detective Senior Sergeant Aaron Pascoe said it was clear
"something violent" had occurred at the address.
"However we are not looking for anyone else in relation to
this incident," he said.
The alleged offender was due to appear in Auckland District
Court next week.
