A man killed when his tractor tipped down a bank and landed
on rail lines north of Taumaranui has been named.
He was Justice Erni, aged 28, of Taumaranui.
The fatal crash happened about 10am yesterday on
Ongarue-Waimiha Rd near Ongarue village.
At the time, Mr Erni - who drove for a local agricultural
company - was towing a haymaking implement.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the serious crash unit and commercial vehicle
investigation unit were both investigating.
Mr Erni's death will also be referred to the coroner.
