Masseur denies inappropriate touching

A mall masseur accused of inappropriately touching female clients is standing trial in Christchurch.

Cunbin Zhang, 59, pleaded not guilty to 17 charges of indecent assault at the start of his Christchurch District Court trial today.

A jury has been selected and the Crown is set to give its opening address, which will be followed by the defence.

With the assistance of a Mandarin language interpreter, Zhang pleaded not guilty to the charges today.

He denies that between November 5, 2012, and December 7, 2012, he inappropriately touched the unnamed complainants.

It's alleged that on 17 occasions, he massaged and grabbed breasts, touched pubic areas, inner and upper thighs, pulled nipples and touched women's bottoms.

The trial, before Judge Stephen O'Driscoll continues.
