A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with critical injuries after colliding with a car north of Auckland.
It is understood the person on the motorbike suffered severe injuries and CPR had to be performed for about five minutes.
It was unclear if the rider was a man or woman, but police are expected to release more details tonight.
The collision happened at Wellsford and the rider was en route to Auckland City Hospital. The incident will be investigated by police.
