Man arrested over stabbing

A 21-year-old man is in custody following the alleged stabbing of a man at a Wellington home this afternoon.

Police said they were called to a house in Paparangi just after 2pm and found man, aged in his 40s, suffering multiple stab wounds.

The man is now in stable condition at Wellington Hospital and will be interviewed by police over the coming days.

The 21-year-old is in police custody, and will appear at the Wellington District Court tomorrow charged with wounding with intent.

Police have said the two men knew each other, and are confident the incident is isolated.

Investigations will continue tomorrow to locate the knife believed to have been used in the attack, police said.
