An American man has been charged over the death of Auckland
woman Robyn Derrick, who died in crash involving a campervan
in Coromandel last week.
The 23-year-old man will appear in court today charged with
charged with careless driving causing death and careless
driving causing injury.
He was the driver of a campervan that allegedly crossed the
centreline and crashed into an oncoming four-wheel drive
State Highway 25 at Whenuakite about 6.30pm on Friday night.
"Both the driver and his passenger have been co-operating
fully with police throughout the course of the
investigation," Waikato road policing manager Inspector Freda
Mrs Grace said police expressed their sympathies to the
family of Mr Derrick.
