Police are hunting two people who robbed a Bay View service
station at knife-point last night.
Acting Senior Sergeant Clint Adamson of the Eastern District
Command Centre said Bay View Mobil staff were "shaken up and
shocked" after a male and female robbed the service station,
otherwise known as J Young Motors, on Main North Rd, Bay
View, at 8pm, before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
The weapon used in the aggravated robbery was described as a
knife or "possibly a machete", but there had been no
injuries, Mr Adamson said.

The getaway vehicle was described as a late 80s Ford Falcon,
which witnesses said was blue or green. The incident comes
after a 19-year-old man held up a Z service station on
Heretaunga St in Hastings in March.
The man gave service station staff a note saying he had a gun
and demanded money.

Shortly after armed police raided a King St property were the
alleged offender was taken into custody.
Some cash was recovered from the home.
The man was charged with robbery the following day.
