Teen arrested over Auckland school stabbing

A 16-year-old youth has been arrested over a stabbing in Mangere earlier this week.

He will appear in the Manukau Youth Court today, charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and injuring with intent to injure over the incident in Wickman Way.

Two teenagers were taken to hospital after Tuesday's incident, which involved students from Southern Cross Campus, a Year 1-13 school.

One suffered a stab wound to the neck, and the other suffered minor injuries.

Neither injury was thought to be life-threatening, and the patient suffering from a neck wound was later in a stable condition.

The stabbing happened just hours after an 11-year-old student was stabbed at Pacific Christian School, also in Mangere.

Police said the two incidents were not connected in anyway.
