A woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a train in Blenheim this morning.
Police said the woman in her 60s was believed to have been walking across Redwood St when she walked into the path of a southbound train about 8.30am.
The train driver sounded the horn but was unable to avoid the crash.
Police said the woman was being taken to hospital with serious injuries.
There would be some delays to traffic in the area.
