A man suffered critical injuries when he was hit by a train in Auckland last night.
He was at the Homai train station in Manurewa when he was hit by a train at 10.30pm, a police spokesman said.
He was taken to Middlemore Hospital in a critical condition.
This week is Rail Safety Week, an initiative by KiwiRail and TrackSAFE NZ to raise awareness about rail safety and encourage safe behaviour around trains and tracks.
