An elderly cyclist was injured in a hit-and-run in
Christchurch this morning.
The 77-year-old man taken to hospital with a neck injury,
suspected broken ribs and cuts following the collision on
Bealey Ave just after 8am.
He was struck by a car pulling out of Geraldine St, as he
travelled east on Bealey Ave, police said.
The driver did not stop, and left the man lying on the road.
He was later taken to Christchurch Hospital for treatment.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
It was believed the car was an older style and grey in
colour, with an unknown number of people inside.
The cyclist was wearing a bright orange fleece top with a
reflective vest and dark coloured helmet.
