Police have located the body of a man where the Puriri Stream meets the Waihou River in the Waikato region.
The body has not yet been formally identified, police said.
Police said they want to hear from anybody who may have information about the movements of 18-year-old John Balchin who went missing in the Puriri area yesterday afternoon.
Mr Balchin was last seen running across farmland near Puriri at about 2pm yesterday afternoon.
Police said they had considerable concerns for Mr Balchin's safety.
