A body has been found in bush between Whitianga and Coromandel.
Detective Inspector Karl Thornton said police were sent to an area of bush off the 309 Road to begin a search for a man who had been reported missing.
The body of a man was discovered before police arrived at the scene around 2pm yesterday.
Police were carrying out a scene examination to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.
