A 66-year-old male suffering from a serious medical condition was airlifted to Rotorua Hospital yesterday afternoon.
The Tauranga based Trustpower rescue helicopter was dispatched to Ruatahuna, a remote settlement in the Urewera Ranges at 4.30pm yesterday.
The male, who required immediate hospital care and was flown to Rotorua hospital.
