Kawakawa man charged after $6000 drug find

More than $6000 worth of methamphetamine and hundreds of dollars worth of stolen property was discovered by police at a Kawakawa property yesterday.

A 26-year-old man from Kawakawa will appear in Kaikohe District Court today, charged with burglary, supplying and selling methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine for supply.

Far North Area Commander Inspector Wendy Robilliard said yesterday's search saw the Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU) and police staff actively targeting drug dealers and thieves.

Ms Robilliard said anyone with information about illicit drugs or stolen property can contact their local police or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 111 555.
