Police have today named the 22-month-old girl who died after falling into a pond on a rural property at Waimangaroa on Tuesday.
She was Anamiek Manshande.
Police were called to the Collins Road property about 5.30pm on Tuesday, where the child was reported to have fallen into a farm pond.
CPR was performed at the scene and the child was taken to Buller Hospital in a critical condition.
She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police today said their inquiries on behalf of the coroner were continuing.
