Former principal denies child sex image charges

The former principal of a South Waikato school has denied a series of child sex image charges.

Bruce Allan Darroch, 50, the former head at Te Waotu School near Putaruru, pleaded not guilty in the Rotorua District Court today to nine charges including supplying, making and possessing objectionable material.

The charges relate to photographs featuring a boy under the age of 10.

Darroch had previously been granted interim name suppression but that was lifted today.

Judge Simon Menzies remanded Darroch on bail to reappear in the Rotorua District Court on Feburary 25 for a case review hearing.
