A man is in police custody after a domestic violence incident in Avondale during which he allegedly brandished a firearm.
A police spokeswoman said the man was seen with a firearm near Avondale College.
"It appears to be a family violence issue. It occurred outside the school," she said.
"The male was located and the female is safe. He is being spoken to at the Avondale police station."
It was too early to say what charges the man would face in relation to the incident.
