Three Motueka men arrested in stolen car

Three men from Motueka were arrested near Kumara on the West Coast yesterday after they were stopped in a stolen car.

Police said the vehicle was stolen on Friday, and had been involved in "petrol drive offs" from service stations in Nelson, Motueka and Greymouth before it was stopped yesterday afternoon.

A 20-year-old man was charged with unlawfully taking a vehicle and theft, police said.

A second 20-year-old man, and a 16-year-old boy, were both charged with unlawfully getting into a vehicle and theft.
