A man has been charged in relation to a sex assault on a young teenage girl in Waihi last week.
The 31-year-old local man appeared in Hamilton District Court on Saturday charged with sexually assaulting the girl at a party on Wednesday last week, police said.
He was remanded on bail, with strict bail conditions.
"Police inquires are ongoing and we are speaking to a number of people who attended the party that night," Detective Simon Everson of Waihi CIB said.
