Three injured in Levin crash

Three people have been taken to hospital following a collision on State Highway 57 in Levin this afternoon.

Two cars were involved in the collision, which caused road closures for a short amount of time while police cleared the wreckage and an oil spill from the crash.

A police spokesman said he understood occupants of both cars were taken to Palmerston North Hospital in a serious condition.

The Fire Service was required to pull several occupants out of one of the cars.

One of those taken to hospital was in a critical condition and the other two were stable, a hospital spokeswoman said.

All three were still in Palmerston North Hospital's emergency department.
