Invercargill police are urging members of the public to come forward with information about the assault of a female student.
Police said the student was attacked on Leven Street, Invercargill, about 3pm yesterday. Her iPhone 6 cellphone was taken.
The suspect was described as a male, possibly Maori, about 1.8m tall and wearing a dark puffer jacket.
The cellphone is black and is in a white plastic case with colourful patterns on the rear.
