The man killed in a collision between a motorcycle and a van in Christchurch last night has been named.
He was Shannon David Stewart (40).
Police said the family of Mr Stewart were "understandably upset" and were being supported by police and Victim Support.
Mr Stewart was riding his motorcycle on Pound Rd near Savills Rd around 5pm last night when the crash happened.
The death has been referred to the coroner. The driver and sole occupant of the van was not injured.
