A scrub fire at Wellington's historic Basin Reserve cricket ground has been extinguished.
Firefighters were called to the blaze about 1.30pm, a Fire Service spokesman said.
Some bush on the banks of the cricket ground had caught fire, causing a large amount of smoke.
Two crews were sent to the scene and have put the fire out.
Its cause is yet unknown.
