Police worry about missing schoolgirls

Police are worried about two Wellington schoolgirls who have been missing for more than a week.

Nobody has heard from Ziana Repia, 13, and Sunshyne McLean, 15, since Thursday last week and Porirua police are now appealing for help in finding the pair.

They've also been asked to make contact.

Police believe the two may be together, but this has not yet been confirmed. It's also possible they've left Wellington.

Both girls attend Aotea College and when they were last seen they were wearing the school's dark blue uniform with aqua striping and blue shorts.

Sunshyne is described as 168 centimetres tall, of thin to medium build and has long black hair, brown eyes and a fair complexion.

She had her PE clothes with her as well as a Chicago Bulls t-shirt and white Chuck Taylor shoes.

Ziana is 170cm tall and is of medium build. She has long frizzy hair and brown eyes.

She also had a dark and light blue raincoat, a bus pass and $10 with her.

"Police are obviously worried for the safety of the two girls considering their ages and the length of time they have been missing," a police statement issued today said.
