A person has died in a workplace incident in South Auckland today.WorkSafe New Zealand was investigating the incident, Police Inspector Ian Brooker said.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Aintree Ave in Mangere before 3pm, he said.
"It's a workplace accident,'' Mr Brooker said. "There's been a fatality there.''
WorkSafe NZ said the fatal incident occurred at Davies Logistics - which operates Davies International Freight - on Aintree Ave.
"We cannot provide further comment until investigation has been completed,'' WorkSafe said.
A spokeswoman at Davies International Freight refused to comment.
A witness at the scene said there were a number of police officers there.
St John ambulance spokesman Robbie Walker said the ambulance service was called to the incident at 2.53pm.
An ambulance and two managers were dispatched.
One man had died at the scene and no transportation was required, he said.
