She was Isabel Frances Rivett (nee Jones).
The 32-year-old was in a party of five who were 3km up the valley towards Goat Pass on Sunday.
They were making their third crossing of the Deception River when Ms Rivett became detached from her group and was swept downstream, police said.
She was found by her companions about 1km downstream. CPR was carried out by members of the party and emergency services called, however she died at the scene.
Police inquiries are continuing.
