A milk tanker rolled on a main road between the Coromandel and Thames last night.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, on State Highway 25A, known as Kopu-Hikuai Rd.
A spokesman for the northern fire communications centre they were called to reports that a milk truck had rolled at about 9.30pm.
The driver was not injured or anyone else harmed, he said.
A member of the public who contacted the Herald last night said he and his family had just passed the crash site and that traffic was backed up, as a result.
"The trailer is still attached to the truck. Half of it is sticking out of the road."
