One person is dead after a car they were travelling in and a truck collided in rural Waikato today.
A St John spokesman confirmed an occupant of the car died after the crash, on State Highway 27 at Te Puninga, between Morrinsville and Tahuna.
A police spokeswoman said two people were being cut from the wrecked vehicle.
The police serious crash unit is investigating and road closures are in place.
The crash has blocked the highway and motorists are being advised to expect delays.
