Girls arrested over dairy attack

Two teenagers have been arrested after an aggravated robbery in South Auckland.

The girls, aged 14 and 16, will appear in the Youth Court following an assault on a shop attendant at Hari Superette in Papatoetoe.

Police are continuing to identify the other offenders involved in this alleged incident, however one of those already arrested was, police believe, primarily responsible for the violent assault on the shop attendant.

Detective Senior Sergeant Kevin McNaughton said he would like to thank members of the public and the media for their assistance in identifying those allegedly involved.

"I hope that these arrests will be of some comfort to the victims and the Papatoetoe community.

"I am confident more arrests will be made and Police welcome any further information which may help identify those still outstanding."
