Two arrests in second meth bust

Two arrests have been made in the second incident this week where residential apartments and motels in central Auckland were being used to supply methamphetamine. There is a possibility these premises were also being used to manufacture P.

A 44-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman have been charged with possession of around 280g of methamphetamine with a street value of approximately $120,000.

A police search of the inner city apartment where the pair were arrested also found 1kg of an unidentified substance.

In addition to the drug, officers also found other chemicals and paraphernalia that could be used to manufacture the drug.

Police also stopped a car on Nelson St in relation to this incident earlier today.

The passengers have not been charged, but are being questioned for more information. The car is also being searched.

Armed police were present at the scene. However, NZ Police says they were deployed only as a precautionary measure.
