A woman was badly injured in South Auckland when she fell into a hole near a bar at around 3am today.
Firefighters rescued the woman from the 4m-deep hole outside the 1981 bar and restaurant on Great South Rd, Manukau.
A Fire Service spokesman said the rescue was done with a rope attached to an aerial ladder on a fire truck.
It is understood the woman was taken to hospital.
