A body has been found on a beach on Auckland's west coast.
The body was found at North Piha.
"We got a call from a person who found a body at 7.18," said police spokesman Inspector Ian Brooker.
He was unable to state the dead person's age or gender. The death was at this stage unexplained.
"We don't know whether it was a drowning or what."
