Two people are in hospital with serious injuries after the car they were in rolled into a paddock in Taihape early today.
Emergency services were called to State Highway 1 north of Taihape shortly before 1.30am.
A St John spokeswoman said two adults sustained serious injuries in the crash.
One was taken to Whanganaui Hospital, while the other was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.
The Fire Service said the Taihape brigade and a crew from the Waiouru Military Camp were also called out to help cut the pair out of the car.
It is understood only one vehicle was involved in the crash.
