Man in critical condition after suspected stabbing

A 50-year-old Taranaki man is in a critical condition after a suspected stabbing.

Police said a 46-year-old woman from Eltham, Taranaki, was arrested this morning.

The man was taken to Taranaki Base Hospital yesterday and was in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

His family are being advised by police, and are being supported by the hospital, police and the police iwi liaison officer.

Police were interested in speaking with anyone who was in the Eltham area yesterday or this morning who saw anything suspicious, especially anyone who saw a green coloured 1999 Ford Laser hatchback.

They can contact their local police or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
