An Owaka man has been taken to Balclutha Hospital tonight after being kicked in the head by a cow.
A St John spokesman said the man in his 50s suffered minor injuries at a dairy farm at Hinahina about 7.50pm.
Helicopters Otago chief executive Graeme Gale said the Otago Regional Rescue Helicopter was sent to an Owaka property but it was stood down on route.
Owaka firefighters assisted ambulance officers at the scene.
It is unclear how the man came to be kicked.
